[Bug 1299604] Re: evolution keeps asking for password
I think the fact that Evolution clears the password without interacting with the user is a bug on its own.
All the workarounds are temporary and do not "solve" the problem.
Evolution seems to have problems dealing with basic connectivity issues: connection drops, mail server temporary down (Yahoo, anyone?).
Bottom line: Evolution should never ever clear the password of any account. It could ask the user to update the password if there are authentication problems (if they are not related to connectivity issues), but the decision to change the password should not be made without the user consent.
