Title:
30 sec Xorg freeze - ACPI Warning: \_SB_.PCI0.PEG0.PEGP._DSM: Argument
#4 type mismatch - Found [Buffer], ACPI requires [Package]
(20131115/nsarguments-95)
Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
XOrg freezes for about 30 seconds and this warning is printed in the
syslog:
kernel: [ 752.250482] ACPI Warning: \_SB_.PCI0.PEG0.PEGP._DSM: Argument #4 type mismatch - Found [Buffer], ACPI requires [Package] (20131115/nsarguments-95)
kernel: [ 752.250740] ACPI Warning: \_SB_.PCI0.PEG0.PEGP._DSM: Argument #4 type mismatch - Found [Buffer], ACPI requires [Package] (20131115/nsarguments-95)
However, the console still works while X is frozen.
This is a Dell XPS L702X with optimus graphics.
The freeze appears to occur randomly.
Using nautilus, gedit or other gtk3-programs seems to cause it happen more frequently. Eclipse and Chromium that uses gtk2 does not seem to trigger the bug.
