Just for clarity, all my comments about not working examples are in reference to normal PDFs such as the kalendar pdf in the OP... 
The test.pdf I attached is the only working pdf I've found.

  It displays in evince, but it prints blank pages only.

  Sending the same file directoy to the printer using "lpr" works fine.
