With evince 3.12.2 and Master PDF Editor 2.1.90, same problem on 14.04.1
Opening file with different pdf reader without rendering issues.

Bug description:
  displaying attached pdf modified with master pdf editor produces
  distorted output in 12.10 and 13.04 while it disyplays correctly in
  12.04.2
