Title:
Hardy beta - voodoo5 recognised but not enabled

Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
Hardy beta - graphics Voodoo 5 and Samsung SyncMaster 172v. Starts in 800x600. Device Manager lists Voodoo 4/5 but Screens and Graphics fails to retain the tdfx driver when selected - always reverts to VESA, max screen 800x600 . Tried Syncmaster 172t analog as 172v not listed (same refresh rate), but fails.
Able to use 1280x1024 with tdfx driver in live session Gutsy, so copied xorg.conf from Gutsy live to Hardy, which then works normally eg 1280x1024.
Using this old computer to try Hardy (Gutsy on my main computer) until Hardy Final Release.
