[Bug 112065] Re: Can't install Epson Perfection V350 scanner

Rhymer, thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu. Fiesty reached EOL on October 19, 2008.
See this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases

Is this an issue in a supported release? If so, could you please execute the following command, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:
apport-collect 112065

Title:
Can't install Epson Perfection V350 scanner

Status in sane-backends package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I understand there is a problem convincing Epson to support Linux
distros. (Shame, shame on them ! I also doubt if I could change
their ways) I am very enthused about my new Feisty Fawn 10.2 and
want to keep using it. Here's a big attaboy for you, Ubuntu !

Can't seem to find any help in Synaptic... My hardware manager sees
the V350 but isn't activating it. (I do a lot of photo
scanning...Scanner works with dual-boot Windows XP Pro.)

is there any other software that will help me, here,? Is my only
option to dig down deep for a new, supported scanner?

I appreciate you good people spoon feeding this Linux newbie !
