Title:
  12.10 two sets of applets on top panel

Bug description:
  Screen picture attached.  Two sets of network manager, clock, battery,
  etc.

  Display is a VGA TV  1366x768 one set of applets is at the top right
  another set ending at 1024.

  Systems Settings Displays has 1024x768 laptop turned off but a 800x600
  screen is displayed??

  This is a regression.  Quantal Quetzal Beta did not have the double
  set of applets problem.  12.04.1 does not have the problem either.
