[Bug 1401508] Re: Empty desktop


Ricardo Manuel Ribeiro Duarte, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better.  Please execute the following command, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:
apport-collect 1401508

Please ensure you have xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes
button for attaching additional debugging information.

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-
bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this

Bug description:
  Hi i just installed ubuntu 14.10,after booting i can see my desktop background i also can log in,changing from desktop to terminal, but every time i go to desktop i only see the background image with no icons or menu bar.
  I've tried sudo apt-get "update,upgrade,xserver-xorg-core,ubuntu-desktop,etc" and i only see background image,any ideias?the grephic card is ati 5470....
