[Bug 58896] Re: Umax AstraSlim SE is not working correctly
Mathieu Alorent, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Is this an issue in a supported release? If so, could you please execute the following command, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:
apport-collect 58896

Hi,
My Scanner, a Umax AstraSlim SE is not working correctly. The Images all look like
this: http://alorent.com/Capture-Apercu_AstraSlim_SE.png
under http://www.sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html#Z-UMAX the
Scanner is reported with Status "Good".
I found the solution here : http://www.mail-archive.com/debian-bugs-
dist@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/msg01185.html
I had to :
- download the firmware here http://www.google.fr/search?hs=qja&hl=fr&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Afr%3Aunofficial&q=download+Artec48.usb&btnG=Rechercher&meta= or get it from from the cd.
- replace my existing /etc/sane.d/artec_eplus48u.conf with this one :
====== 8< cut here ======
# The USB section:
# each device needs at least the following line:
# usb vendor-ID and product-ID
# Every device configuration in this file must begin with an usb entry.
usb 0x05d8 0x4009
#
# Path to the firmware file
# This file comes with the Windows driver
# The scanner won't work without it
#
option artecFirmwareFile /usr/share/sane/firmware/Artec48.usb
#
# for adjusting the default gamma values
#
#Use this options to set the default offset and exposure time values.
option redOffset 0x28
option greenOffset 0x2f
option blueOffset 0x2f
option redExposure 0xac
option greenExposure 0x122
option blueExposure 0xeb
====== cut 8< ======
hope this will help...
(same problem with dapper, however, the solution was not tested on it..)
Regards
Mathieu
