Title:
Evince reports incorrect password before user enters one.
Status in evince package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Binary package hint: evince
I want to open a password-protected PDF document. As usually I open a gnome terminal and type
s <filename>
(where s is my alias to the command evince).
Evince immediatelly produces the message
"Error: Incorrect password".
Anyway it then provides a popup window for typing the password and then, after I type the password, it opens the document as expected.
However, the error message is annoying; why should be user informed about an incorrect password if no password has been entered yet?
