Found workaround for this issue.
Use “dconf Editor” (installed in UbuntuGnome 14.04 by default)
Org->gnome->nautilus->preference->default-folder-viewer, change it to “list_view” from drop down list.

  Nautilus "Files" doesn't save items view style (List or Icons view)
  after closing window and opening it again. Previous Nautilus release
  does it.
