This is caused by a FreeRDP issue #2137

and is still a problem in the latest FreeRDP devel version 1.2.

  Remmina RDP Win2008 Excel vertical alignment

Status in remmina package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  When connected with RDP to a Windows 2008 terminal server with MS Excel 2007, only the first character is shown when using vertical alignment. All other alignments work (45°, 89°, -90°,...) except exactly vertical (90°), where it only shows the first character in every column.
  I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 with Remmina 0.8.0, but also asked a colleague to verify on his Mint 11 with Remmina 0.9.3 where the same bug occurred. I also tried tsclient which didn't have the same problem (but still has the mousepointer bug and is not nearly as good as Remmina). 
  I will upload a few screenshots that show this strange behaviour.
