Iron Davey, thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping
to make Ubuntu better. However, I am closing it because the bug has been
fixed in the latest development version of Ubuntu - Vivid Vervet.

This is a significant bug in Ubuntu. If you need a fix for the bug in
previous versions of Ubuntu, please perform as much as possible of the

Title:
certain PDF documents display fine in 12.04 but don't in 14.04

Status in evince package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
I have a scanner that can automatically scan documents to PDF files,
which I use *a lot*. Recently when upgrading to 14.04, I noticed many
documents I've scanned in the past don't show up in evince, though
they did in 12.04. So, I installed a VM to verify. I took a screenshot
of them side by side to show you, and have attached a sample document
for you to verify the issue.
