Title:
evince and evince-thumbnailer stuck with high cpu load

Status in evince package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
Both evince and evince-thumbnailer get stuck with high CPU load when
trying to open a DVI file with embedded EPS images. The DVI is output
from latex. Very annoying as evince-thumbnailer is triggered
automatically in the background every time the DVI file changes.

This is a regression as it was working fine just two days ago with
  14.04 before the update.
