Re: [Bug 1319418] [NEW] Locking the screen over lxpanel results in an error
I don't know where the problem lies, but it's not in xscreensaver.
Something, possibly your panel, is holding the mouse grabbed. There is
no way for xscreensaver to function if it can't get a mouse grab.

Title:
Locking the screen over lxpanel results in an error
Status in xscreensaver package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
I'm using Ubuntu 14.10 dev with lxde-common 0.5.0-4ubuntu4 and
xscreensaver 5.26-1ubuntu1 and after upgrading xscreensaver from
version 5.15 to 5.26 I'm noticing that locking over lxpanel does make
some problems. Here is my panel entry:
Plugin {
type = launchbar
Config {
Button {
id=lxde-screenlock.desktop
}
Button {
id=lxde-logout.desktop
}
}
}
If I'm now clicking the "id=lxde-screenlock.desktop" button nothing
happens for several seconds and then xscreensaver locks the screen but
shows the error message "couldn't grab pointer (AlreadyGrabbed)" and
mouse movements doesn't popup the input fields anymore (but the
keyboard is still recognized). Using "xscreensaver-command -lock"
manually works fine.
