That version has reached EOL since a while, so it will not receive

Bug description:
I downloaded and install 12.10 beta1 on my Dell Optiplex GX270, Pentium 4 running @ 2.60 gHz and 1.2 Gigs of memory. 12.10 beta1 started but the Desktop did not start. There was an error message that compiz crashed. I opened the system settings via desktop appearance (changed the wallpaper which worked). I check my display settings for my monitor then checked for updates and installed the updates. I re-started the computer and desktop doesn't appear.
I had a similar problem with the last updates from 12.10 alpha3 where there was no desktop. On this computer I ran Unity 2D.
