[Bug 876103] Re: Really slow and choppy fullscreen Flash videos in Ubuntu 11.10
Official support for Ubuntu 11.04 "Natty Narwhal" and Ubuntu 11.10
"Oneiric Ocelot" has ended. bosha, Tommy_CZ and anyone else still
experiencing this on Ubuntu 12.04, 14.04 or 14.10 - please run ubuntu-
bug to file a new bug report so that we can get a fresh set of system
logs and some hardware info.
Please note that the open-source radeon driver performance on recent AMD
Radeon chips has improved a lot since Ubuntu 12.04. Test results for
Tommy_CZ's Radeon HD 6310 (albeit coupled with a different CPU) can be
viewed at
http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=amd_fusion_dpmsb -
compare the "Ubuntu 13.04 - Stock" numbers with the "Linux 3.11 DPM" and
"Linux 3.11 DPM + Mesa Git" numbers. Since this article was written,
dynamic power management (DPM) has been enabled by default and further
refined. Ubuntu 14.04 "Trusty Tahr" is based on the Linux 3.13 kernel.

Problem: When try to view fullscreen YouTube videos (or any other
flash video like cuevana.tv) the video is almost unplayable, really
slow and choppy.
The funny thing is that right beside this box, I have a Code2Quad with
Asus p5qc mobo 2gb ram 1066 and the same ATi video card, with same
Ubuntu setup, propietary drivers and ubuntu 11.10) and the videos play
just fine!
Any ideas?
Thanks a lot!
