[Bug 1394997] Re: 8086:0f31 Intel graphics corruption since upgrade to Ubuntu 14.10
Daniel Drake, while the three issues may very well be related, let us focus this report down to a more manageable level. Hence, this report will only be scoped to the first issue mentioned:
1. Maximized windows (especially gvim) have rectangular regions of their titlebar totally invisible and transparent, so the contents of whatever window or image is behind them shows through. Easy to reproduce but problem disappears once a screenshot is taken :/
Hence, could you please take a picture of your screen with a camera, as
you mentioned when you do a screenshot the problem is not captured?
** Description changed:
- Since upgrading from Ubuntu 14.04 to Ubuntu 14.10, I have been seeing
- graphics corruption under GNOME 3 several times per day, including:
-
- 1. Maximized windows (especially gvim) have rectangular regions of their
- titlebar totally invisible and transparent, so the contents of whatever
- window or image is behind them shows through. Easy to reproduce but
- problem disappears once a screenshot is taken :/
-
- 2. Strange "diagonal display corruption" in firefox, usually random
- glyphs appearing on top of the website, but sometimes it is other
- "illegible data" similarly aligned in diagonal lines. Happens several
- times per day. Screenshot attached.
-
- 3. Occasionally some glyphs from any/all apps disappear, leaving an
- "alphabet soup" type effect where only a certain proportion of letters
- in displayed text is visible. Hardest to reproduce, perhaps twice per
- week, I'll take a screenshot next time.
