[Bug 1076499] Re: DVD AC-3 Audio is played in stereo in passthrough mode
It is tracked now in https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=331875
Since I have no Utopic Unicorn machine, I cannot confirm it is fixed. I should probably upgrade because of tis.

Title:
DVD AC-3 Audio is played in stereo in passthrough mode
Status in Totem Movie Player:
Unknown
Status in totem package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
This is related to Bug #28177.
Totem can play an pure ac3 sound file and it is recognized as Dolby Digital source by my amplifier.
This is not the case with DVDs!
With Totem, DVDs are always recognized by my amp as stereo.
Playing the same DVD with vlc-player, Dolby Digital is recognized fine.
Totem shows in properties that the DVD has "Dobly Digital (AC-3) codec.
This was tested with totem 3.0.1 on Ubuntu 12.4
