I've tried recreating this bug with Ubuntu 14.04 and was unable to,
given the information you've provided. Please upgrade to the latest
version and re-test. If the bug is still reproducible, increase the
verbosity of the steps to recreate it so we can try again.

  Writer Find textbox on Toolbar finds the watermark "Find" if nothing
  is written

  3) What is expected to happen in Writer is when one clicks inside the
  Find textbox on the Toolbar, the word find disappears.

  4) What happens instead is the word find is still inside the box. This
  does not occur in Calc.

  WORKAROUND: Delete the word Find and type in the desired search.
