Title:
Starting some superuser applications from unity fails

Status in Unity:
  Expired
Status in unity package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
I expect that when i click on the synaptic icon in menu and when try
to start gparted or synaptic from dash that the the program should
  start.

I have run in to problems like this a couple of times.
It seams permanent ie ones i get it i have to reinstall ubuntu.

Perhaps the problem comes from some kind of unity dependency on home-folder files
since i got it after connecting with my old home folder?

What happens is nothing when starting from dash.
from menu the icon blinks for a while.
  no program is started.

I can start super userprograms from comand line.

Programs i know i can't start from unity but from terminal.
  gparted
  synaptic

Programs i know i can start from unity(and could perhaps be super-user required)
