Status in xsane package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  I have HP ScanJet G2410. After I upgrade to ubuntu 13.10(from 13.04).
  Fail to deduct the scanner

  jj@jjux64:~$ lsusb | grep Scan
  Bus 002 Device 009: ID 03f0:0a01 Hewlett-Packard ScanJet 2400c

  jj@jjux64:~$ sane-find-scanner | grep 03f0 | grep 0a01
could not open USB device 0x03f0/0x0a01 at 002:009: Access denied (insufficient permissions)

but works 'sane-fine-scanner' works in sudo. But even through click preview is crashing.
After adding the scanner group to the user, xsane can deduct the device but crashing while scanning.

jj@jjux64:~$ sudo usermod -aG scanner jj

  jj@jjux64:~$ sane-find-scanner | grep 03f0 | grep 0a01
found USB scanner (vendor=0x03f0 [Hewlett-Packard], product=0x0a01 [hp scanjet scanner]) at libusb:002:009
