oualeju4mhfn, as per http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-x-series-laptops/thinkpad-x230 an update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (2.62). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything?  If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

  8086:0166 [Lenovo ThinkPad X230] x hangs after standby

Bug description:
  8086:0112 [drm:i915_hangcheck_elapsed] in 12.04

  Problem described there occurs regularly, meaning nearly always, after
  sleep or standby. Switching to a console before(!) entering standby
  helps to circumvent the problem. Switching to a console after wakeup
  is possible but this doesn't reanimate the X-server.
