Hi Jason. I am working on the user doc right now and will commit it in a few
hours. Make sure to update again as I just commited a few fixes. Meanwhile I
recommend giving this shapefile simplifier a try (polygons and lines only):

It may reduce the size of your shapefiles dramaticly and still make them
look good, sometimes even better. Lighter shapefiles do wonders to the
overall performance of the application.
