Re: Complete dataset registrations in data export/import

Can we still have the option of either including/excluding particular
metadata with export files . I assume previewing files also gives the
opportunity to edit the files before importing – Then unwanted components
can discarded?

Subject: [Dhis2-devs] Complete dataset registrations in data export/import

One thing that is a step backwards with the separation of data and metadata
is that the complete dataset registrations does not appear to be included
anymore… I can see this would be difficult with the the CSV file, but could
it be included with the XML-export perhaps? Or does it count as metadata?

That was exactly the way it was before ;) Problem here is the from
experience we know this will mess up the meta-data in the central server.
If the target database has changed its meta-data, then sends data which is
imported into the central database it will be hard to keep the meta-data in
sync. If sending both meta- and data then it is just a matter of sending
two files and import the meta one first.
