2.12 plan

Hi all,

we plan to release 2.12 at June 1 in time for our advanced academy in
Entebbe, Uganda.

An update of the key features which will go into this release:

- Migrate all analysis tools including Data Visualizer and GIS from using
data mart as data source to the new Analytics
API<http://dhis2.org/doc/snapshot/en/user/html/ch25s18.html> .
What consequences does this have? You will be able to do analysis along all
dynamic data dimensions in DHIS, incuding org unit group sets, data element
group sets and categories. It also means that running data mart will not be
necessary anymore (it will remain supported, no worries for SQL gurus)
which is a relief for large deployments which struggle to make the data
mart process finish during the night.

- Offline capture of single, anonymous events. Tracker follows in the
footsteps of the aggregate data entry module. You will be able to register
anonymous events without Internet connectivity, and then automatically
upload your data to the server when online again.

- Web API for single, anonymous events. We are gradually extending the Web
API to cover the Tracker component and we start with single events. This
will facilitate integration with other case-based systems like clinical and
EMR systems, and multiple DHIS instances. It will also make it easier to
create third-party mobile clients for case-based data capture.

- Integration of analysis modules: We will make it simpler to jump between
pivot tables, charts and maps to create a seamless experience, and let you
first choose which data to look at, then which type of visualization to use.
