Re: Prediction Module.

Hi Dennis and Alex,

Yes, there are many ways in which the data could be predicted with tools
such as R or Python, even Excel. The problem of course is what model you
choose to use. If we had a good way to predict routine health information
from historical data, there would be little need for DHIS2, as we could
simply predict it! There are many external tools which could help you to do
this, and there is nothing in the DHIS2 core which would allow you to do
this, but if you have a good model, then R is a pretty good tool to use for
this type of stuff.

For simple cases, like extrapolation of population data, it should be
pretty forward. For other things, like prediction of the number of malaria
cases in a given district, a very good predictive model would be needed. It
would be good to know the details of your intended modelling approach, so
we could document it.

There are some trivial examples here
<https://www.dhis2.org/doc/snapshot/en/developer/html/apa.html> and feel
free to post more specific questions about how you might be able to achieve
this.

Regards,
Jason
