Re: GSoc' 16 : Improving the DHIS2 android dashboard and building a common app for all the DHIS2 apps.
Hi Aman,
Thanks for contacting us.
Do you have any experience of contributing to open source? Do you have any open source projects you can share with us?
Good way to get started on development is getting familiar with the project itself and building it from source code. I advise you to visit the project’s page (legacy branch) https://github.com/dhis2/dhis2-android-dashboard
In order to test app you can use demo server:
https://play.dhis2.org/demo
Username: admin
Password: district
After that, you can try to fix a bug or implement a feature from the list and make a pull request:

Hi, I am Aman Dalmia, Sophomore at Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. I want to contribute towards improving the DHIS2 android dashboard and building a common app for all the DHIS2 apps.
I have been an android developer for more than an year now, having recently completed my winter intern at a startup.
These are some of my works:
Twango Persona
Eventify
Spirit
Yash Infotech
I intend to start working on the project from today itself. I'll be starting up with bug-fixing and resolving issues. Should I be building the wireframes for the new app/improved dashboard?
Thank You.
