Hi,

I assume you are talking about running it on your desktop/laptop,  not a
server?

Ubuntu was recently discussed on the developer list:

Not fully concluded. Probably the easiest would be to download and unzip
DHIS2 Live from http://dhis2.org/ -There is also a .deb.
