How does "D"number of days works

Hi,
i am trying to create this calculated data element "Potential Number of
hospitalization days(Beds x days in month)" using "Beds" as data element
and "D"  to formulate the the numerator but it's not calculating  the
value. Any help on how this works, i couldn't find any related info the
manual.
