I have had this working reasonably well in the past.  Basics worked
quite ok.  But I never plucked up the courage to try and get an odbc
driver running under that environment :-(

I am much more interested in Lars' recent experience with LibreOffice.
 Which for one thing should be able to use a jdbc driver.
