Google actually planning to sunset SPDY in favour of  HTTP/2
http://techcrunch.com/2015/02/09/google-starts-fading-out-spdy-support-in-favor-of-http2-standard/
Hard time to make choices about such things these days.   Times area a
changing.  Not sure where the dust will settle.
