Dear Morten,

I toggled between the remaining ports 25 and 465. Both throws out

"Caused by: javax.mail.MessagingException: Could not connect to SMTP host:
smtp.gmail.com, port: 2;
  nested exception is:
        java.net.SocketTimeoutException: connect timed out
"
I'll try the method you suggested.
