It looks like your credentials are wrong.  You are right in your
conclusion that it doesn't actually check your credentials. It just
makes sure your password isn't blank, it used to but it was too error
prone. There's anoher bug about that. Fix your credentials and it will
work. Also if you have openid enabled on identica logging in via
usename/password via a service fails, so you need to disable openid.
