[Bug 370965] Re: Pidgin plugin starts all new converations in AIM
This bug affects me as well, here is a detailed description:
I have two accounts in Pidgin in three different protocols - one of them
is MSN the others are Gadu-Gadu and XMPP (Google Talk). When I type a
name of a Gadu-Gadu or XMPP buddy, who's currently offline, the message
window appears with an MSN icon and if I type anything, obviously I get
a response from the MSN server: 'Message was not sent because the system
is unavailable. This normally happens when the user is blocked or does
not exist.' Apparently, Pidgin wants to talk to my Gadu-Gadu/XMPP buddy
as if it were an MSN buddy.
This does not happen, if I try to start the chat with a Gadu-Gadu/XMPP
buddy, who's currently online, or if I start a chat with an MSN buddy
(either offline or online).
This happens when I use Gnome-Do in any way, everything either typing or navigating through the list with arrows:
- typing the buddy name, then choosing 'Chat' action
- typing 'Chat', then choosing the buddy name
- when choosing buddy, using right arrow to expand buddy node and choosing prpl-gg Handle
I want to start a chat window with my Gadu-Gadu/XMPP buddy even if they
appear offline, since many of them are actually invisible.
I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 64-bit, pidgin 1:2.5.5-1ubuntu8, gnome-do
0.8.1.3-0ubuntu2, gnome-do-plugins 0.8.1.3+dfsg-ubuntu3.
