Status in fonts-ubuntu package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  The tittle of i in in ligature (?) “ﬁ” in 8pt bold is hardly visible
  (vanishes). A separate i looks okay, so the hinting from the 'i'.

  Also check 'ﬃ' which is set as a composite of 'f' and 'ﬁ'.
