There has been some discussion earlier about switching from Autotools
to something better. Arve Knudsen, our build systems expert at Simula,
is preparing a demo of how the build system for DOLFIN may look in
SCons (www.scons.org) and CMake (www.cmake.org).

The demos should be ready in a few days. I'll put up the demos on
fenics.org for everyone to compare and then we can discuss which way
to go.
