ok, let's do that.

For reference, here's an example of what it should look like:

# Look for petscconf.h
if (EXISTS ${PETSC_DIR}/${PETSC_ARCH}/include/petscconf.h)
  message(STATUS "Found petscconf.h")
  set(FOUND_PETSC_CONF 1)
else()
  message(STATUS "Unable to find petscconf.h")
endif()

Note else() and endif() with no arguments.
