[Question #108413]: Suggestion, hash backup files to insure they are not corrupted

New question #108413 on Duplicity:
https://answers.launchpad.net/duplicity/+question/108413

Perhaps this is already done invisibly, but it might be good to have an option that tells the remote backup machine to md5sum (or the like) the backup files and for duplicity to fuss if the hashes of any files have changed from their previous values.

Or perhaps this would be better done outside duplicity as it's likely that many people have done this, themselves, for any number of applications.
