checked with python 2.6.5 .. works as expected. commandline generated
form duply is

TMPDIR='/tmp' PASSPHRASE=pass FTP_PASSWORD=pass duplicity remove-older-
than 1Y --name 'duply_profile' --verbosity '4' --ssh-askpass
sftp://user@host:12//tmp/testprofile

..ede/duply.net
