I have encountered this problem several times too. I don't think it is
of 'low' importance by two reasons:

1) People are using standby a lot these days, so many people will
encounter this error.

2) The datetime indicator is a very basic program with a small, well
defined functionality. Not being able to show the date is maybe worse
than don't showing anything at all, as people may take wrong decisions
based on wrong information. So this is a major issue.

Bug description:
  Synopsis:
  - Booted system on 4/27/12
  - System repeatedly taken in and out of suspend
  - System placed in suspend around 4/27/12 11:30 PM
  - System resumed fom suspend 4/28/12 9:00 AM
  - When clicking the time in the unity top bar, date says "Friday, 27 April 2012"
  - When running "date" from command line, date says "Sat Apr 28"

  - Original install: 12.04 beta (i386)
  - Upgraded to Precise Pangolin 12.04 LTS on 4/27/12 (date of release)
  - Updated to latest packages on 4/28/12
  - Package: unity 5.10.0-0ubuntu6

  Reproduction:
  - Fake the date as 11:55 PM
  - Suspend system
  - Resume 10 minutes later
  - Date won't be updated in the unity top bar.
