Once you get wedged like this the only way to get out of it seems to be
to start another application from the home scope or launcher and then go
back to the home scope where you can again swipe across to get to the
apps scope.

  Cannot get to app scope if you leave it with an app detail screen open

Status in “unity-lens-applications” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Go to app lens
  Find an app to install.
  Click the app, click "Install" button.
  Wait for app to be installed.
  Swipe in from left edge, click Ubuntu button.

  You'll end up back at the home scope as expected, but you can no
  longer swipe over to the apps scope.

  I would expect to be able to swipe across and still see the detail for
  the app I just downloaded.
