I'm not sure what's going on here.

In lp:~charlesk/indicator-datetime/lp-1196059, I'm expanding that error
message to include the format string that indicator-datetime-service is
having trouble with. Could you please update this ticket with that new
information after this patch lands?

  Expected Results: it show the date
  Actual Results: it show the written unsupported date format

  TESTCASE:

  -on the panel, click the hour and select 'Time and Date settings...'
  -the Time & Date window click the 'Clock' tab
  -select  Weekday or Date and month and the 'unsupported date format' written will appear
