[Bug 1169493] Re: Unity DE Stops Responding When Double Clicking Launcher/Dash, Installing Software from Ubuntu Software Center, or Attempting to Drag Icons on the Launcher

This problem actually disappeared with Catalyst 13.6 and Catalyst 13.8
fixed all crashes while Catalyst 13.11 fixed OpenCL issues and improved
performance.

** Changed in: compiz
       Status: New => Fix Released

** Changed in: unity (Ubuntu)
       Status: Confirmed => Fix Released

** Description changed:

- Using Radeon HD 7950 with fglrx. If I double click or attempt to drag an
- icon in the launcher/dash the GUI will stop responding (but the mouse
- will render just fine). If I move to a different tty session and back,
- it merely shows a black screen and my mouse cursor. The only way to fix
- it when this happens is to sudo restart lightdm.
-
- Update: It's no longer a black screen when alternating between tty
- sessions, however it's unresponsive and ligthdm cannot be
- killed/restarted. It's also good to note that whenever installing a
- package with a launcher in Ubuntu Software Center, the GUI will freeze
- up under Unity. Other DE's work fine.
