[Bug 1078512] Re: Regression -- Some applications icons in Unity Dash are displayed too large

I am wondering why Unity doesn't have the ability to scale icons into
the required size, rather than relying on the icon size provided by
those who design them.

Somewhat unrelated, I was also wondering to what happened to the old
idea that low quality icons should be replaced by the system
automatically by some sort of generic application icon?

Regression -- Some applications icons in Unity Dash are displayed too
  large

  New

Bug description:
I am on unity-lens-applications 6.10.0-0ubuntu1, with Quantal Proposed
enabled in Software Sources. I see large application icons for some
applications. This is a regression, as this wasn't the case until
  recently.

This issue might coincide with bug #1052513.

In my case, these icons are enlarged within the application lens:

  Unison
  Weather Indicator
  Guake
  Xmind
  XDiagnose
  XML Copy Editor
