Title:
Allow other apps to query what panel icon is being used
Status in Upower:
Fix Committed
Status in “upower” package in Ubuntu:
Triaged
Bug description:
Per the SoftwareUpdates spec [1], when on battery power, the Software
Updater should show the same battery icon as the power indicator does.
But Software Updater doesn't have access to that information today.
Currently, this is calculated in the indicator directly via
indicator_power_device_get_gicon(). But it would be convenient to
allow other apps to get this same information.
Maybe move that function to some shared library. Or split the
indicator into separate service and menu components like most of the
other indicators.
