Title:
Unity eats the windows key and prevents other apps from using it

Status in Unity:
  Expired
Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: unity

  1) Open the gnome keyboard preferences
  2) change the "Lock screen" action and hit windows+l.
  3) Shortcut now shown as "Mod4+L"
  4) click close.
  5) Try to use the new keystroke, nothing happens

keep trying, sometimes unity shows its applications menu. It is
apparently eating the key stroke and not allowing the gnome shortcuts
  to see the key press.
