  Hud has a massive memory leak

Bug description:
  I have the system load indicator to monitor my cpu and ram, and I've
  recently noticed that my ram has been filling up quicker than usual.
  And my Hud process ends up using 400+ mb of ram. This hasn't started
  happening until after I upgraded from 13.04.
