I see this too all the time. A quick fix, which doesn't require logging
out, is to just kill -HUP the indicator-datetime-service process.

Title:
After resume, displayed date and/or time are different than system
  time

Status in “indicator-datetime” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  indicator-datetime 0.3.94-0ubuntu2, Ubuntu 12.04

Many times after I resume from sleep, the time in the time indicator
applet either does not update or takes a really long time change.

The system time is correct and the time/date settings application
displays the correct date and time.

  Steps:
1- Put the machine to sleep
2- After few hours (in my case it was 24 hours), resume from sleep
