[Bug 1272079] Re: Setting the timezone is not reflected in the indicator or lock screen

 

That'll be a bug in those components then. As you confirmed, system-
settings is doing its job and setting the system timezone correctly.

Bug description:
  Choose any new timezone
  The system time gets adjusted accordingly per the date command
  Neither the indicator or the lockscreen show the new time

  Recent builds, tested today on 144 on mako
